Our Story
Tim could not remember exactly when his symptoms first started, all he knew was he felt miserable at school, not so much that he hated studying but the frequent feeling of morning nausea, anxious most days. As he reached adulthood, symptoms worsened and he would suffer from bloating, loose bowels. These episodes would occur randomly and perhaps food triggered. This thing is he could not pinpoint the exact foods, possibly to dairy and gluten. His abdomen felt queasy, and had suffered from depression.
Multiple visits to his physician did not solve his problems. His life was miserable. No only did he feel unwell, his social life was also affected as eating out is like stepping into a mine field. Triggers were not confined only to dairy and wheat products. Healthy stuff like broccoli, apples, avocados can trigger a deluge of abdominal gas, he could never predict when disaster would strike, that is dashing to the toilet for a quick dump. His girlfriend broke up with him and felt insecure and embarrassed when out with friends, he was simply passing out too much unpleasant odors.

His Life Changed After His Best Friend
Bought Him A Book:
The second brain” by Dr Michael D Gershon. This book gives an insightful connection between the Gut-microbiome brain axis, how the environment in our gut affects our brain, moods, thoughts and emotions.
He decided to change his life, then he has to navigate through a myriad of confusing information and looked for answers to his questions: what food to eat, how to improve his gut health, why did gut health improve brain health. It was hard.
After many years and feeling much better, he wants to help others with similar journeys and My Recovery was born.
